Job description
There is an opportunity to join Pirelli modelling team to enforce FEA experts to work on a variety of tyre performances (like rolling resistance, wear, NVH, durability, force and moments) and contribute to the development of simulation and analysis tools to support product development.


Master degree Mechanical/ Aeronautical / Civil Engineering
Background in finite elements techniques (implicit & explicit, preferably Abaqus) 
Background in programming languages like Python & Matlab for automation of pre and post-processing tools.

Key skills required:
Open-minded and able to work in Team both in function and other company functions
Be highly self-motivated, ready to work strict deadlines and have a flexible approach to working hours
Communication and reporting skills, good ability to think critically and synthetize information
Excellent English language written and spoken, knowledge of Italian would be beneficial


TESI: Real driving conditions Rolling Resistance: Road Roughness influence study and modelling (preferibilimente inizio entro marzo/aprile)
L’attività, incentrata sulla resistenza al rotolamento, prevede lo studio dettagliato dei molteplici fattori che influenzano la resistenza al rotolamento, passando dalle condizioni fissate dalla normativa di labelling a quelle di reale utilizzo su veicolo: in particolare oltre alle condizioni di marcia (deriva, camber, velocità, pressione, carico ) andranno analizzati fattori ambientali  come superficie e temperatura. A partire da dati sperimentali di campagne prova dedicate, vanno quantificati gli effetti di diverse rugosità stradali, e sviluppata opportuna procedura di modellazione, a elementi finiti o altro tipo, per andare ad integrare le predizioni di RR fatte coi tool attuali sviluppati su ipotesi di strada perfettamente liscia.
