Main Activities:
• Chemical-physical characterization of the raw materials used in Pirelli compounds
• Study of the relationship between properties of materials as they are and their impact on the properties / performance in compound
• Definition of technical specifications of raw materials
• Approval process of raw materials and management of the approval flow in the laboratory and in the factories
• Management of the relationship with suppliers
• Collaboration with the various company functions (material development, quality, HSE, purchasing) for the introduction and approval of new materials

The intern will provide Operational support in the characterization and definition of the technical specification of the following materials for rubber compounds: fillers (carbon black and silica), plasticizers and chemicals. The activity will be carried out in particular with targeted studies in the chemical-physical laboratory in agreement and with the supervision of a technologist of the Raw Materials Approval team

• Knowledge of the main techniques of chemical-physical characterization of materials: the specific knowledge of laboratory analytical techniques is a plus
• Familiarity with Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, ...)
• Good communication skills
• Analytical skills and problem solving
• Ability to work independently and aptitude for teamwork
• Initiative, proactivity
• Fluent English
• 5 years degree in Chemistry (analytical/macromolecule/organic address) or in Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering
• Any specializations are a plus
