Title:  Automation Engineer

The candidate will join the Engineering team with a focus on the curing area at Pirelli headquarters; Heh/she will be involved as an Automation Engineer in project management, software design, simulation and testing of automated machinery for all Pirelli factories around the world. Depending on the category and complexity of the projects, he/she can act as a project member or project leader.

The candidate will focus on the following Activities:
• Collaborates on the definition of the electrical equipment (hardware and software) of the machinery in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Participates in writing the specifications for the electrical equipment of the machinery for all Pirelli factories around the world
• Writes specifications for software implementations to make the new machinery
• Defines the changes to be made to the software of the machinery already in place production
• As the software project leader, defines the project timeline and accordingly manages the design, procurement, commissioning, testing and validation of electrical equipment for machinery both produced in-house and supplied by original equipment manufacturers and systems integrators
• As a project member, support the project leader in all previously mentioned activities
• For assembled production lines, coordinating external suppliers, carries out complete software engineering (e.g. core structures, alarm management, interfacing with servers, etc.) according to company standards and directives
• Defines data structures and interfaces with M.E.S. and upper layers
• Supports the development of new features for process/product traceability
• PLC and SCADA/HMI software standardization
• Technical scouting and implementation of emerging technologies applicable to tire manufacturing process machinery
• Verification, approval and archiving of documents in compliance with quality standards
• Offers technical support during installation, commissioning, start-up and subsequent life cycle phases in all Pirelli factories around the world

Skills & Competencies
• Secondary school degree or qualification as Automation technician
• 3+ years of experience on industrial automation
• On field experience in machines testing and commissioning
• Knowledge of industrial automation: PLC, sensors, servo controls, robotics, industrial networks and related applications
• Basic knowledge in CAD and electrical design SW
• Knowledge of the design of industrial electrical systems and the electrical diagrams
• Advanced programming knowledge
• Knowledge of software and application writing languages such as: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron
• Ability to work in international teams
• Fluency in English and Italian
