Mechanical Project Engineer

Involved in motorsport since 1907, Pirelli has been the exclusive official tyre partner of the Formula 1™ World Championship since 2011 and has just renewed the agreement until 2023.


Pirelli is looking for an Mechanical Project Engineer, who will join the HQ Pirelli Manufaturing Department within the Continuous Imporvement team.


Main activities:


  • Design and development of mechanical parts relating to highly automated production lines / machines, through the drafting of technical specifications and comparison with suppliers / manufacturers
  • Coordination and support for the development and construction of the identified systems
  • Support for the installation of lines and machinery, participating in the start-up in Pirelli factories around the world
  • Support for the production and debugging phase of lines and machinery
  • Elaboration of the documentation relating to the projects
  • Debugging of the production process with the aim of identifying potential areas of efficiency
  • Development and installation of industrial solutions to improve production efficiency
  • Management of complex projects as Project Leader (through the management of direct and indirect resources) using Project Management techniques
  • Cross-functional collaboration




  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of experience in similar roles in industrial contexts
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical drawing
  • Knowledge in the field of gearboxes and gearmotors
  • Basic knowledge of robotics
  • Basic knowledge in the field of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
  • Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad
  • Fluent English

The following knowledge / skills will be considered a plus:


  • Project Management: definition of targets, cost and timing control, KPI analysis
  • Knowledge of the Machinery Directive
  • Experience in multinational realities
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulic schemes and systems
  • Basic knowledge of Data Collection
