The Automation & Robotics Engineer will join the Research and Development Technology Engineering team at Pirelli headquarter. He/She will be involved as Automation & Robotics Engineer in designing, programming, simulating and testing automated machinery for all the Pirelli factories in the world. Depending on the category and complexity of projects, he/she may act as project member or project leader.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Defines the electrical equipment (hardware and software) of machinery in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Writes the specifications for the electrical equipment of machinery for all the Pirelli factories worldwide.
• Supports the design, procurement, commissioning, testing and validation of the electrical equipment for machinery both internally manufactured or supplied by Original Equipment Manufacturers.
• For assembled production lines, coordinating external suppliers supports the accomplishment of the complete electrical engineering (e.g. cable trays layout, cables dimensioning and distribution) according to electrical standards and directives.
• Defines data structures and interfaces with M.E.S. and upper layers.
• Supports the development of new functionalities for process/product traceability.
• Applies predefined hardware/software standards to new electrical equipment.
• Carries out simulations for robot integration, cycle time optimization and layout definition.
• Robot calibration, programming and testing.
• Document verification, approval and archiving in compliance with quality standards.
• Application of the best practices in quality and efficiency for designing, procurement and manufacturing of automated machinery.
• Offers technical support during installation, commissioning, start-up and following lifecycle phases in all the Pirelli factories worldwide.
• Supports the Digital transformation of the Company.

 

Requirements:
 
• Master Degree in Automation Engineering or Robotics Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum three years of experience on industrial automation and robotics
• Ability to calibrate and operate robots (Comau, ABB, others)
• Knowledge of industrial automation: PLC, sensors, servo controls, robotics, industrial networks and related applications
• Knowledge in industrial electrical plant design and electrical schematics drawings
• Knowledge of data analysis and DB management tools (query, script, etc.) is an advantage
• Knowledge of PLC programming languages is an advantage
• Knowledge of Fortran, C/C#, VB, Python is an advantage
• Ability to work in international teams
• Ability to work independently

• Basic knowledge of project management
