We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Placement Student to join our HR team for a 12-month placement.

 

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement, HR administration, and workforce planning.

 

The successful candidate will support the HR team in delivering a professional and people-focused HR service while developing practical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced business environment.

 

Main duties include:

 

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, personnel record management, employee communications, and responding to day-to-day HR queries.

 

  • Support employee relations and absence management activities by maintaining absence records, producing reports, coordinating formal meetings, and assisting with case administration in line with company policies and procedures.

 

  • Assist with recruitment and early careers initiatives, including advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews, supporting candidate communication, facilitating work experience programmes, and delivering new starter inductions.

 

  • Support learning, development, and wellbeing activities through the coordination of training programmes, Occupational Health referrals, medical appointments, and employee engagement initiatives.

 

  • Maintain accurate HR systems and documentation, ensuring employee data, records, and reports are updated and managed in accordance with company processes and confidentiality requirements.

 

  • Contribute to HR and company projects, events, and departmental operations and assisting with the delivery of people-focused initiatives.

As we consider the HR Assistant to be an integral part of the team we require the following:

 

Essential:

 

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional approach to confidential information and sensitive employee matters.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Previous administrative or customer service or office experience.
