Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd has a long successful history of supporting the training of Engineering Apprentices. 

 

We have an opportunity to join us in September or October 2025 to begin the journey of gaining a Level 3 Engineering Qualification. Talented and dedicated individuals will be considered for further training opportunities throughout the progression of the apprenticeship.

 

Training in Toyota’s Word Class academy, you will learn about hand tools, welding, machining and electronics. The Training Programme is in two stages:

 

Stage 1. Based in the ‘Toyota Academy’ for 22 months you will learn engineering technical theory, gain practical skills, and undertake several personal development courses needed to help you commence your career in engineering and maintenance. You will also have some placement weeks within the Pirelli facility.

 

Stage 2. You will spend 22 months with Pirelli completing a hands on engineering role practically learning how to apply your new skills.


Apprenticeship Standard Title: Engineering Technician (ST0457) subject to change
Duration of Apprenticeship: 48 Months (course approx. 44 months)
Starting Salary (first year): £16,144 per annum (£7.72 per hour)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

 

To be eligible to apply you should be expecting at least 4 GCSE at grade ‘4’ or above including Maths, English and Science.  The successful candidate will be passionate about working with their hands and solving problems and able to work well as part of a team.

OTHER KEY DATES: Applicants must be available during March 2025 to undertake an aptitude test. The shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend assessment centre activities including a practical assessment on Wednesday 09 April 2025 and final interview during the month of April or May.  Details to be confirmed in due course.
