JOB SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
Reporting directly to the UK CFO, this stand-alone role will be specifically accountable for UK compliance matters and activities. In addition to being responsible for monitoring compliance programs already in place and implementation of new programs where required, with a key focus on Brexit impacts and consequences in the middle long term.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance management – ensuring group policies and procedures are correctly drafted and implemented in the UK, based on current, local or Group requirements
Ensuring compliance reports are collated, analysed and submitted in a timely fashion
Work with colleagues based in Milan to understand compliance requirements and the impact and interpretation into UK law, along with the analysis of possible compliance risks and mitigation measures
Governance and Internal audit – auditing internal functions of the UK business to ensure compliance with data retention, data protection, anti-corruption policies and procedures and identification of follow up recommendations to improve internal control systems
Co-ordination and delivery of any compliance related training and awareness sessions
Specific compliance initiatives include, but not are not limited to:
Privacy Compliance; model of segregation of duties
Program of anti-corruption in line with UK Bribery Act and Group policy
UK Local Legislation (including but not limited to Gender Pay Gap, Modern Slavery, Payment Practice, Tax Evasion etc)
Compliance on reporting over the financial statement (financial and non-financial information)
Policies and procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND APTITUDES
Education
Qualified solicitor desirable
Degree in Law/Economics
Experience
Good level of Compliance management experience
Good knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
Company commercial law and contracts experience
Commercial awareness
Customer facing experience
Skills
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Pragmatic approach with enthusiasm and initiative to manage a varied caseload
Flexible approach to work and able to work within a pressurised environment
Ability to organise workload, and be self-motivated to ensure deadlines are achieved

Italian language skills desirable / advantagous

Please note, this is a part-time role of 25 hours per week.
Salary for this role will be £50k pro-rata, depending upon qualification, skills and experience.

The role is 25 hours per week, and we are flexible in how that is worked in terms of days. We are looking for anything from 3-5 days per week, depending on the candidate. We have a Smart working policy (hybrid working; 3 days in the office and 2 days at home), although any new starters to the business will be required to be in the office on a full-time basis initially.
