To identify and implement quality and waste-reduction improvements, by applying structured improvement methodologies to reduce waste, enhance process capability, and minimize variation.
Role responsibilities:
- Lead problem solving activities using structured techniques to reduce scrap, improve process capability and other Quality KPIs.
- Resolve chronic quality issues and prevent them from reoccurring.
- Promote best quality practice across the business.
- Lead cross-functional Improvement Teams in Quality projects to meet objectives and deadlines.
- To identify, prepare and deliver quality related training.
- Actively support the introduction of new / modified processes, software and equipment.
- Work in conjunction with the internal and external suppliers to improve incoming materials
- Produce daily/weekly reports where required
- Assist with the creation of SOP’s to ensure quality is built into the product
- Networking with other factories and Central Quality.
- Working a weekend rota where required.
Required aptitudes:
Education and professional backround:
- Significant experience of a manufacturing process.
- Experience within a quality role or relevant education.
Professional and personal aptitudes:
- Innovator / facilitator: able to drive forward improvement activities using sound methodology and professional integrity.
- Willing to challenge the status quo.
- Drive projects to closure with required results.
- High level of resilience.
- Be an effective communicator.
- Be self-motivated and focused.
- Good IT skills, an understanding of a programming language would be preferable.
- A flair and enthusiasm for Quality.
- An eagerness to learn and develop within the company.
Competence based Interview – Technical and Behavioural competences. Selection Panel will consist of representatives from Quality and HR.
The successful applicant will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (Participation in Weekend Quality rota required).
The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
