Title: Internship Modelling NVH
Internship Modelling NVH
The candidate will join Pirelli modelling team to enforce the virtual design of tyres (with specific focus in the NVH area on structure-borne noise & comfort) and to harmonize simulation tools and methodologies with the Pirelli worldwide technical centers. He/she will be involved in the following activities under guidance of his/her tutor:
• Application of CAD/CAE methodologies (mainly based on Finite Element simulations) to support product development, in more detail:
- Prediction and comprehension of tyre dynamic response in operating conditions, and how different tyre parts do contribute to structure-borne noise & comfort performance
- Postprocess simulation results and extract synthetic performance indicators
- Critical analysis of results of both simulations and experimental tests and their correlation
- Investigation of both stand-alone tyre performance as well as tyre interaction with the vehicle with the final goal of improving structure-borne noise & comfort performances, being aware of the other targets that the same tyre needs to fulfill (handling, rolling resistance …)
- Generation of NVH tyre models to be submitted to customers and support on customer requests specific of the NVH area
• Modelling procedures definition/improvement and their validation vs experimental studies.
• Active collaboration with Universities, other research centers or external suppliers to increase internal know-how and apply innovative approaches with final goal to improve product quality.
• Contribute to development of sw tools for automation and industrialization of simulations guaranteeing efficient use of HW and SW resources.
• Team working with other Pirelli departments (testing, materials, processes….) whenever necessary for project goals
• Contribute in support and training on modelling topics worldwide modelling departments and also product technologists.
